Now that you have Visual Studio installed, it is time to learn about the IDE. To aid in your understanding of Visual Studio, you will need to create a new project. For your first application, create a Console App.
A Console Application utilizes the Command window to interact with the user.
Creating a New Project
To create a new project in Visual Studio click File - New - Project
You can use the Search control to find the project type you are looking for. For this exercise you will create a Console App (.NET Core) project.
Once you have selected the project type, you can give it a name and provide the location to store your application files. For now, fill in the Project name, leave the defaults for Location and Solution and click Create.
In the next post, you will learn about the parts of the IDE.
